Artist's Description
Tall Bearded Iris 'Maytime'
From Eden Road Iris Garden catalog for 1956: Lovely large pink bicolor. Standards are pale silvery lilac pink, wide and firmly held; the broad fall are deep rose pink. Beard is light yellow. Altogether gay and fine.
From Schreiner Iris Lovers catalog for 1952: The amoena class being the most difficult of all color classes to improve, Maytime represents a real breeding triumph. Its two-tone lilac-pink has a warmth and freshness – a limped etherealness – that are most inspiring.
