Bent and whimsically twisted Laurel trees in Fanal forest shrouded in mist like the Fangorn Forest a deep, dark woodland inhabited with the Ents and Huorns, magical treelike living creatures.
Every single old Laurel tree (up to 500 years old) like a masterpies and has its own humanlike personality and character, the twisted brenches and bent crooked trunks, look absolutely mysterious. And foggy atmosphere adding to the feel of being in the fantasy enchanted forest.
The Fanal is one of Madeira's large laurel forests, located in the northwest of the island. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.
