Description
Colorful Time in Japanese Garden by Jenny Rainbow.
Beautiful peaceful scene with colorful foliage of the trees in Japanese Botanic garden at early autumn time. Prague, Czech Republic.
The art of creating Japanese and Chinese gardens is a unique phenomenon in the treasury of world culture. The cradle of this unique art is China, where it was taken over by the Japanese in the 8th century.
Even today, the style of these gardens is very popular, because in our speedy time it brings calmness, quiet elegance, a place for relaxing the mind and meditation.
The traditional features were used during building the Japanese Garden in Prague botanical garden. The stones on the sidewalk "tobishi" slightly protrude above the level of the terrain so that one does not wear shoes during the walk. They are deliberately laid out irregularly, as is the case in nature. In a quiet corner, there is a traditional tall garden lamp, which besides its practical function symbolizes the "light of knowledge obscuring the clouds of ignorance". The wooden tea hut provides tranquility for relaxation or meditation and a splendid view of the garden and the pond.
Also, individual plants have their symbolism in the tradition of Japanese gardens. For example, maples symbolize autumn or wisdom. In the garden you can see one of the largest collections of Japanese maple cultivars in the Czech Republic. Opposite to them are plums, symbolizing new life, virtue and girl beauty. The Pine trees represent eternal life and resilience, peony nobility, wealth and power.
