Description
Waterfalls of Chamarel.
Formed by the River St.Denis, the waterfalls of Chamarel (Cascade Chamarel) have a height of 83m (272ft). The waterfalls and are surrounded by lush vegetation of Black River Gorges.
The Chamarel falls are definitely the most famous and recognized waterfalls in Mauritius and as such has always been a main attraction for tourists. Three distinct streams plunging down from almost 100 meters from the St. Denis River, down into the gorge. The sight of this impressive waterfall against the scenic forest and mountains is truly breathtaking.
Unfortunately I have been there when the streams were not plenty of water as it was pretty dry weather..

Thank you very much, dear Ana! Actually the waterfall was not as powerful as during the rainy period and looks so fragile for that period..:-)
